The National Coordinating Office of the APPEALS Project today received the Task Team Leader, TTL for the Project and Senior Agriculture Economist, Agriculture Global Practice, World Bank – Dr. Adetunji Oredipe for an implementation support meeting with management and staff of the National Project Office in Abuja.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Oredipe stated that the purpose of the meeting was to touch base with the Project in order to have a sense of the direction the project was heading, in line with the next steps and action, as agreed at the 4th Implementation Support Mission.

“I’m here to see what we can do together and what support we can give you to fast-track the implementation of the project; and to see how you are working to push the project to meet its objectives” he said, adding that “the Project’s results must be visible”.

Welcoming the TTL on behalf of the National Project Coordinator, the Project Operations Manager – Dr. Salisu Garba gave a general overview of the status of Project implementation, while other management staff and sub-component Heads took their turns to present updates on work done so far in their respective portfolios.

The TTL urged the staff to double their efforts in facilitating the implementation of the Project in the participating states, to ensure the overall actualization of supporting the Federal Government of Nigeria in the three key areas of Food Security, Export Promotion and Livelihood Improvement.
