“Women and Youth Empowerment Program (WYEP) Sustainability and Scalability – Post Implementation Issues & Best Practices on Insurance Coverage” was the theme of an interactive workshop recently held by the National Coordination Office of the APPEALS Project in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

The overall objective of the workshop was to review the status of the major activities supported under the programme, with a keen focus on agricultural insurance packages and putting measures in place to help the beneficiaries grow their enterprises into sustainable and commercially viable businesses.

The workshop, which was held in Lagos State had in attendance, selected WYEP beneficiaries from across the six participating states including Persons with Disability and Special Needs; The World Bank; relevant project staff; project bankers; representatives of insurance companies/brokers and other stakeholders.

A step-down workshop will be held across all the participating states to create more awareness and understanding on the importance of financial institutions in the sustainability of the WYEP business investments.
